Where will this course lead?

Event Assistant work within a wide range of companies including event agencies, event departments, conference centres etc.

An Event Assistant will be able to plan, organise and deliver an event specific to the employer's needs. Events can cover a wide range of activities that varies in size for example sales conference, music festival, company gathering etc. these are just a few examples that make an Event Assistance role so exciting.

They will also be able to carry out consultations with clients, demonstrating the professionalism, values, behaviours, communication skills and safe working practices associated with the role.

What will I study?

This apprenticeship is formed of two main assessments methods and a final end assessment point.

The technical certificate, studied by attending college one day per week is called BTEC Level 3 in the Principles of Event Management. Whilst studying for this qualification, the units you may study include:
- Customer service
- Understanding clients' needs
- The Events Lifecycle
- Events logistics
- Budget management
- Personal and team effectiveness
- Time Management

You will also need to complete a vocational competence evaluation log.
This log book will be evaluated throughout your programme (behaviours evaluation log) and supports your completion of the end point assessment.

When your employer and the college confirm that you have completed the required studies, you will be entered for an end - point assessment which includes:

- Vocational Competence Discussion
- Project
- Portfolio

How will this course be delivered?

The apprenticeship programme consists of on-the-job and off-the-job training delivered through one day per week day- release at our Blossomfield campus, on- the- job training from your employer, independent study and work- based visits from your assessor.

- Event Assistant Apprentice
- BTEC Level 3 in the Principles of Event Management

How will I be assessed?

The subject units are assessed in a variety of ways including observations, professional discussions, verbal or written questions, assignments, presentations, work products, reflective accounts and witness testimonies.

End point assessment is assessed through a practical case study, portfolio, observations and professional discussions.

How do I get a place on the course?

In order to get a place on the course you need to have secured an apprenticeship position with an employer. Apprenticeship vacancies are advertised on our website and you can follow the instructions to apply online. The vacancies provide detailed information about the employer, the job role, location, hours of work and salary/benefits

What are the entry requirements?

English and Maths GCSES grade C/4 or above

What else do I need to know?

In addition you will develop valuable skills in English and Maths, the minimum required level to complete your Level 3 apprenticeship is Level 2 maths and English. If you have already achieved this level you will continue to work towards the next level.

What can I do after this course?

On completion of the apprenticeship, learners will be qualified to work within the events industry and this will help as part of the career progression route within the sector.
