Where will this course lead?

This course is for candidates who are currently employed in a Leisure Centre environment as a Leisure Attendant or Leisure Assistant

What will I study?

On the scheme you will study the following: - Store, set up, and take down equipment in the leisure facility - Clean and maintain equipment in the leisure facility - Customer care in the leisure facility - Health and Safety in the leisure facility - First Aid - Key Skills in English and Maths

How will this course be delivered?

Attendance is based around current employment commitments - this will be discussed at interview, however some attendance at college will be required.

What qualifications will I get?

Upon completion of the apprenticeship, you will be awarded: - 1st 4sport Level 2 NVQ Certificate Operational Services - 1st 4sport Level 2 Certificate in Leisure Operations - 1st 4sport Level 2 Award in Employment Awareness - First Aid - Key Skills in English and Maths

How will I be assessed?

- A portfolio of Worksheets and Projects
- Practical observations in the workplace
- Observation of instructing skills in the work environment
- Oral assessments and questioning

How do I get a place on the course?

Applicants will need to attend a compulsory College interview if successful in passing the application stage.

What are the entry requirements?

Applicants MUST be employed in the working environment, such as a leisure centre. GCSEs in Maths, English and Science at grade D/3 or above are desirable. Good communication skills are essential. Applicants must be 16 years old to join the course.

What else do I need to know?

Course Manuals £40 and Uniform costs are £80.

Good levels of English and Maths are important for your success in your course, your chosen vocation and life.

Throughout your course you will continue to develop your English and Maths skills in your vocational classes. If you haven't achieved an A*/9 - C/4 grade in English or Maths at GCSE, or a Level 2 Functional Skill, you will also be working towards a qualification in English or Maths at a level that will enable you to progress towards these grades.
