Where will this course lead?

This programme is suitable for students who wish to develop practical and related skills working in an engineering environment. Lathes and milling machines will be used in the machining section.

What will I study?

The units you will study are:

- Working safely in an engineering environment
- Developing yourself and working with other people on engineering activities
- Using and communicating technical information
- Identifying and selecting engineering materials
- Fitting using hand skills

How will this course be delivered?

One day per week at college whilst the rest is spent in placement.

City & Guilds 2251 Performing Engineering Operations NVQ Level 2 Technical Certificate

How will I be assessed?

During the course the candidate must successfully complete a series of tasks that demonstrate their competency. A portfolio of evidence is generated to prove this.

How do I get a place on the course?

Candidates must have an interest in engineering, and demonstrate the ability to succeed.

What are the entry requirements?

Evidence of successfully completing GCSEs or GNVQ programmes. An interview is also required.

This course could lead to an Advanced Apprenticeship in Engineering or a Level 3 in Engineering
