Coronavirus: Latest Updates

The Prime Minister made an announcement on Monday 4th January that the country will be returning to a national lockdown. College campuses will be closed except in a limited number of exceptional circumstances.

The College will move to online teaching during this period. Tutors will be in touch with students directly to confirm these arrangements. The Student Hub and Moodle can be accessed via the intranet page:

Safety of students continues to be our priority and services such as mental health support and counselling are available remotely. More detail on how to access these services is available via our student services page:

Our admissions team is working remotely to process all applications. These can be submitted as normal through the website. Select your course of interest, click ‘Apply now’ and follow the instructions.

Exams and controlled assessments

In the light of the Prime Minister’s announcement concerning the national lockdown, the College has decided to postpone all BTEC exams that were due to take place from 6 January 2021.

This is not a decision we have taken lightly but, having reviewed our risk assessments and the high level of transmissibility of the new strain of the virus, we cannot with confidence guarantee the safety of the large number of students involved and the staff that would be required to administer the exams.

Furthermore, we are conscious that many learners would need to use public transport to attend the exam venue and this is at odds with Government advice.

We have consulted with our local FE Colleges, BMET and South and City, who have taken the same course of action.
