The AAT Level 2 Certificate in Accounting and Business is ideal for 16 to 19 year olds who wish to pursue a career in accountancy, finance and business.

Accountancy and Business modules will be delivered through taught classes, workshops, computer work, tutorials, group work, individual work and independantly directed self-study, including homework.
Skills will also be developed through group project work, presentations and fun activities for learning. Students will need to complete at least one week placements as point of their studies.
Talks will also be given by local employers from the accountancy and legal professions.
AAT Level 2 Certificate in Accounting and Business
The Level 2 Certificate in Accounting and Business is made up of nine mandatory units to be assessed by computer based tests.
Places are offered by interviews only.
We expect you to have at least five Grade C/4 or above G.C.S.E.s, and they must include English Language and Mathematics.

The course runs from September to June for the core units.
A minimum of 90% attendance is required at both college and work placements and you need to arrange your own work placement during the autumn term ready for May placement.
On completion of Level 2 Certificate in Accounting and Business, we will encourage you to be able to enter the work place and combine work with further part time study. You will have the knowledge and skills for many positions in an accounting / financial / business environment .
You can continue to further your studies with an AAT Level 3 Diploma in Accounting (1 year) as an apprentice, followed by a similar Level 4 Apprenticeship Diploma in Accounting (1 year and 1 term).
Some students who choose to continue studying can gain exemptions from various accountancy bodies including the ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants), CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants), CIPFA (Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy), ICAEW (Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales).
You will be expected to dress formally every day. This will be discussed during the interview process.
