This course is designed to follow on from the 'Introduction to performance skills' Our evening course is a practical, part-time training course developing acting vocabulary, and improving confidence and communication skills. Due to the structure of the course, full commitment and attendance is required.
Through improvisation exercises and character development, you will develop a basic acting discourse. You will explore techniques in freeing the actor's voice, imagination and physicality; as well as enhancing skills in working supportively with others in the creation of character, situation and role. You will work with experienced tutors who will aim to nurture both your confidence and creativity.
Regardless of prior experience and training, everyone is invited to apply to this course. The course tends to attract people who are new to acting, or those that have had a long break but we also welcome more experienced performers who are looking to brush up their skills or regain their confidence.
Please note: by its very nature, drama and voice training involves using the body and as such all of our courses involve physical activity. We are committed to being inclusive to people of all needs and abilities however, so do get in touch to discuss any concerns you may have around this. We can make sure exercises are adapted to individual needs.
The course will also give you a vast range of employability skills.
