Where will this course lead?

This course will provide you with the skills to create your own accessories whilst also helping you to learn different sewing techniques that can be transferred to dress making. You can also bring in your own design of a garment and get help creating it from scratch. Beginners and advanced learners are welcome.

The skills from this course will give you the knowledge and information that could then develop into a career path.

What will I study?

On the course you will be:

- Learning how to use a sewing machine

- Learning how to make a variety of bags

- Developing sewing skills

- Make seasonal gifts

- Design and create your own garments

- Develop pattern cutting skills

- Learn how to complete different garment processes

How will this course be delivered?

This is a practical course and is designed so that students are enabled to work on individual projects. The delivery is lead by tutor demonstration.

What qualifications will I get?

This is a personal development programme.

How will I be assessed?

This course is for personal development and is informally assessed by the Tutor with self assessment and evaluation by the student.

What are the entry requirements?

You must be aged 19+

If you have Learning Difficulty or Disability please let us know when you apply. You will be offered support in your interview. If you need help completing your application we can help with this too.

What else do I need to know?

The tutor will inform you on the first session of any tools and equipment that are required. They will also have a list of suppliers where these will be available. Sewing machines are available for student use while at the centre

Please note: Materials are not supplied for Cakes, flowers/floristry, Textiles, Soft furnishings, Homemade Crafts, Calligraphy, Art, Cookery, Tiling, painting & Decorating, patchwork & Quilting, Sewing or Dressmaking.

Students are responsible for providing their own imaterials and some equipment.
