Where will this course lead?

This is a 10 week course in which you can develop your creative and design skills, and explore a range of craft disciplines. Find your own style and experiment with various art and craft techniques.

What will I study?

In the first 5 weeks we will be designing and making a wall hanging using various materials and sewing techniques.   You will need to bring various fabrics of your choice, needles, thread, decorative and embroidery threads, card, sketchbook, pencils and pens, ruler etc, apron. 

In the subsequent weeks we will be designing and creating various items using different materials.  In class we will discuss appropriate materials and how best to use them for the project and where you can obtain them, you have been saving up ribbons, buttons, wool, card, coloured and embroidery thread etc already!

Learn to develop design ideas and the process, layout, colour coordination.

How will this course be delivered?

This is a 2 hour session each week for the duration of the course.

You will need your own materials.

What qualifications will I get?

This is a personal development course.

How will I be assessed?

This course is for personal development and is informally assessed by the tutor with self assessment and evaluation by the student.

What are the entry requirements?

Students must be aged 19+.
If you have learning difficulty or disability please let us know when you apply. 

What else do I need to know?

Wearing an apron or old shirt to protect clothes is advisable.

Students will need to supply their own materials, (for example: sketchbook, drawing pencils (B-B8), felting materials (troving own colour choices, long rolling pin, netting 2metres sq and bubble wrap), ribbons, coloured thread, card making equipment and Christmas decoration items.  Other equipment will be discussed during the duration of the course.

Please note: Materials are not supplied for Cakes, Flowers/Floristry, Textiles, Soft Furnishings, Homemade Crafts, Calligraphy, Art, Cookery, Tiling, Painting & Decorating, Sewing or Dressmaking.
