Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA) is a recommended entry point into IT certification and job preparation. Pass just one exam and you'll earn a certification, taking your first step towards a career in technology.

If you are just starting your IT career path or are looking to enhance your understanding of IT fundamentals, MTA will validate your core knowledge. MTA is an optional industry-recognised certification for those pursuing a career path in IT infrastructure, database design or software development using Microsoft technologies.

This 'MTA IT Infrastructure Track', foundation level course is part of from the Professional IT Training series delivered by the Microsoft IT Academy at Solihull College.

Providing IT professional's access to the latest Microsoft certification courses with high quality, flexible learning systems.

The 'Professional IT Training' courses facilitate effective self directed learning, with flexible start dates to meet your individual needs. This course is delivered in our Microsoft IT Academy workshop alongside students studying similar IT Technician courses.

This course includes hands-on practice labs in our Academy lab facility that assist students in becoming proficient in the skills needed to support the Microsoft technology.

The student resources include relevant comprehensive digital Microsoft Curriculum workbook(s) and on-line learning materials.

Microsoft Dreamspark (formally MSDN AA) enable students to download Microsoft operating systems and applications to create and develop their own practice lab environments, for your academic use only. Conditions and systems requirements apply.

Tailored individual learning plans, with support and guidance from our qualified Microsoft Certified Trainer / mentors.

Each Microsoft Official Academic Course is aligned to existing MTA exam objectives.

This course is available to study either in the daytime or evening, over 10 sessions. Learners may re-enrol on course to extend their period of study.

What qualifications will I get?

Vocational study not leading to a recognised academic qualification. Students may elect to take the relevant Microsoft MTA exam(s).

How will I be assessed?

The course includes continual assessments throughout the course with both practical and quiz exercises. Course certificates of completion are provided. There is no formal examination required; however this course will prepare you for the Microsoft MTA IT Infrastructure exams, which may be taken at external Pearson VUE test centres.

How do I get a place on the course?

Places are offered by interview, subject to meeting the entry requirements.

What are the entry requirements?

Learners must be over 19. There are no prerequisites for this course.
