What will I study?

Introduction to Hydraulics is a short evening course that introduces the student to the design, simulation, assembly and operation of basic hydraulic systems used in industry.
The key subjects will be:
- Health and Safety of fluid power systems
- Recognition of Fluid power symbols
- Computer based design and simulation of basic circuits
- Assembly and operation of basic fluid power circuits

How will this course be delivered?

The course is delivered on Monday evenings at the Woodlands Campus 3 hours per evening for 8 weeks. The majority of the course is hands on with access to computer aided fluid power design software; fluid power rigs with industry standard components

What qualifications will I get?


The course leads to a college certificate

How will I be assessed?

There will be some written assignment work but the majority will be inspection of designs, simulations and built circuits.

There are no entry requirements for this course

What else do I need to know?

The rigs and the components are very clean but it is recommended that old clothes are worn or coveralls if you have them. Safety eye protection will be provided.

There are other short courses available of a similar type for pneumatics and maintenance that can be taken on Monday and Wednesday evenings.
