This course will enable you to calibrate the correct use of pesticides and legally entitle you to spray pesticides from hand held applicators
If your job involves applying pesticides in a commercial role then you are legally required by the Chemicals Regulation Directorate (CRD) (Control of Pesticides Regulations 1986) (as amended) to take this qualification.
On PA1 you will study the correct amount of pesticides to use.
This qualification is designed specifically for those who wish to apply pesticides using various types of handheld applicators. On PA6 you will learn how to calibrate the use of pesticides and how to spray correctly over a given area, you will also learn the appropriate clothing that should be worn when spraying (PPE)
PA1 will be taught by a qualified instructor, usually in a classroom.
PA6 is an oral and practical test again taught by a qualified instructor and then you will be independently assessed by an NPTC qualified assessor who will be appointed by the local assessment centre
City & Guilds NPTC Level 2 Award in the Principles of Safe Handling and Application of Pesticides (PA1) (QCF)
City & Guilds NPTC Level 2 Award in the Safe Application of Pesticides using Pedestrian Hand Held Equipment (PA6) (QCF)
For PA1 you will have to successfully complete and pass the online e-volve test before you can register for any of the further pesticide qualifications within the new pesticide suite
For PA6 you will be independently assessed using both oral and practical tests
There are no entry requirements
You cannot go on to do any of the pesticides qualifications until you have completed PA1.
