This course is the second level of the AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians) professional qualification. It is ideal for you if you have already studied the AAT Foundation Diploma (Level 2). Whilst relevant work experience is beneficial, you do not need to be working in an accounting or finance role to access this course. Completion of this course can lead to employment in a variety of accounting roles in large and small organisations. Typical job roles include Finance Assistant/Officer, Audit Trainee, Bookkeeper, Tax Assistant, Trainee Accounting Technician.
Benefits to you:
There are four modules in this qualification:
Financial Accounting - Preparing Financial Statements
Management Accounting Techniques
Tax Processes for Businesses (VAT and Payroll)
As well as studying financial and management accounting at advanced level, these units will introduce you to the business and ethical issues faced by accountants and the increasing importance of technology in modern accounting practice.
The course is approximately 52 weeks but as it is a fully online course and you can study from anywhere at any time, you may need more or less time which we can accommodate.
Level 3 - Accounting Advanced Diploma (AAT)
All AAT qualifications are assessed by external examinations set and marked by the AAT. Some exams are wholly computer marked with results being available within 24 hours of taking the exam, others are partially human marked with results being released within 6 weeks of the exam.
You will enquire on the website - details are below and one of the team members will contact you to assess suitability and explain the next stage for you.
You will have completed AAT Foundation Certificate in Accounting (Level 2) or its equivalent. Occasionally it may be possible to offer direct entry onto Level 3 based on previous accounting/finance work experience. Applicants seeking direct entry onto Level 3 will be asked to complete a diagnostic test to ensure that they have a thorough knowledge of double entry bookkeeping. Please note that our usual entry point for AAT courses is at Level 2.
All AAT professional courses require a significant commitment from the student. It is essential that you can commit to spending at least as long on private study as you are spending online. You can also purchase books to support at approximately 100 pounds.
The formal AAT registration fee is included in the cost.
We offer two options for payment:
Option 1 - Exams fees inc retakes, are undertaken by yourself at approximately 65 pounds per exam.
Option 2 - We pay for the 4 Exams and up to 1 retake (any further retake you will incur the cost)
If you have a Learning Difficulty or Disability please let us know when you apply.
*Free for anyone who is 19+ on 31st August 2023 and lives in a West Midlands Combined Authority postcode, otherwise a fee will apply.
This course is a qualification in its own right so you may choose to stop at this level. But the majority of our students are keen to progress to the Level 4 AAT qualification. This is only recommended for students who have shown a strong commitment to their studies and who have achieved at least a merit at level 3.
