This basic IT programme provides a practical introduction for those who are new to using ICT/Computers or for those who would like to build their confidence.
The course enables you to work on the aspects of computing that interest you in work and everyday life.
Your course will cover:
- Displaying information using ICT - create a document for a specific purpose, menu, letter, poster;
- Using ICT to find information - use effective search techniques/methods to find information/documents;
- Communicating information using ICT - digitally communicate via email, sending and receiving documents;
- Computer Safety.
A 2-hour lesson each week, based in a classroom supplied with computers.
This course is offered at Blossomfield (south of the borough) and Woodlands (north of the borough) campuses throughout the academic year.
This is a personal development course.
Courses are for personal development. Informal assessment by the tutor, with evaluation by the student.

You must be aged 19+
You do not need to own a computer at home, but you may wish to purchase headphones. We can give you advice on this if you need it.
This course will run subject to a minimum class size.
Develop your skills further by gaining a recognised qualification. You may be able to enrol on an Essential Digital Skills course.
