The course is designed to develop your skills, knowledge and confidence in order to sell and display your artwork.

What will I study?

You may have the skills, but now you need to create your own individual style. Your tutor will help you to achieve this over the duration of this course. 

Look at any extra skills that you may want to work on. 

How to choose and / or make your own canvas  

How to prime your canvas. 

How to create artwork on different surfaces. 

How to display your work. 

How to write a personal statement. 

How to promote your work How to sell yourself. 

How to exhibit your work. 

How to price your pieces of art. 

Find out about different art societies that you can join. 

How will this course be delivered?

Online using Microsoft Teams. 

This is a weekly class. 

What qualifications will I get?

This is a course for personal development.

How will I be assessed?

Informal tutor assessment.

How do I get a place on the course?

Through an informal discussion with the course tutor. Please be prepared to provide photographs of your current work. 

What are the entry requirements?

You must be aged 19+. 

You will need to have a good standard of art skills.

What else do I need to know?

You will need to be able to access the course online using Microsoft Teams.

What can I do after this course?

Use your new skills and knowledge to help you sell and exhibit your own work. 

Consider joining an art society to help promote and develop your work. 

Consider embarking on a business course to write a business plan for your product. 

Students enrolling on this course will also have the opportunity to attend an optional 'start your own business' workshop delivered by our careers team.
