This course introduces you to the subject of answering the question 'What is Mindfulness'. We look at the benefits of mindfulness in significantly reducing symptoms of stress, anxiety and other various disorders. We will look at the practice of being aware in every possible moment, whilst keeping a non-judgemental outlook and at the same time observing your own bodily and emotional responses. This course is for personal enrichment.
Over the duration of the course, we will ask the question 'What is Mindfulness' and then explore this further. We look at the three concepts of mindfulness; how mindfulness can help to reduce stress or anxiety and how we can use it as a self-management tool. We will also look at how it can complement other treatment options for a variety of other medical conditions.
The course will be delivered online via "Microsoft Teams". It will include group discussion, activities and some action planning to do at home. You will need to have fully registered onto this course as you will be contacted via your student email address.
