ADULTS WITH LEARNING DIFFICULTIES

In light of current circumstances and government guidelines in relation to COVID-19 we are unable to offer a full ALD provision.

However, we would like to offer learners the opportunity to access the following courses. These will run from September to December and the offer will be reviewed at this time and a new plan put in place for January 2021.

Please note: You may only apply for ONE of the following courses, this will allow us to maintain a “bubble” for you to work within. The College will complete individual risk assessments for every learner who applies to ensure we can safely meet the health and safety guidelines set by the government. We will aim to meet the needs of all learners, but there may be times when we are unable to safely have learners in college whilst maintaining safe social distancing rules.

Once you have decided which course you would like to do, please fill in the application form and send it back to us.

Please note, an application does not mean that you have a place on the course. Once we have received your application, we will send you a detailed initial assessment via email for you to complete, this will inform our decision on whether it is safe for the learner to be in college.

Other information you may need prior to making an application:

– Lunch will need to be brought into college from home and will be eaten in the classroom
– Personal care needs will need to be met by the individual or an external carer who is working alongside them
– There will be an expectation that learners are able to complete work at home as the programme will involve one week in college and one week at home.
– All resources such as ingredients, stationery and cooking equipment (which will be kept to a minimum) will need to be supplied from home on the weeks when students are in college.
