This course delves into the world of fine art by introducing students to a variety of new materials and innovative artmaking techniques. Students will have the opportunity to explore their creativity and expand their artistic skills through hands-on projects. Additionally, the course will include a research component where students will learn about prominent contemporary artists who have made significant contributions to the art world. This class is designed beginners and for aspiring artists who are eager to experiment with materials, challenge their creative boundaries, and gain a deeper appreciation for art.
Explore and Experiment with New Materials
Understand the properties and uses of new art materials such as pencils, oil pastels, charcoal, collage, paint etc.
Master Innovative Artmaking Techniques
Gain proficiency in a variety of techniques including mark-making , collage, sculpture etc
Apply advanced techniques to create original artworks that convey personal and conceptual narratives.
Research and Analyse Influential Artists
Identify and study the works of contemporary artists who have impacted the art world with innovative methods and materials.
Critically analyse and discuss the styles, techniques, and contributions of these artists.
Cultivate Personal Artistic Style
Encourage self-expression and develop a unique artistic voice.
Create a portfolio of artworks that demonstrate growth and experimentation with new materials and techniques.
Engage in Artistic Critique and Reflection
Participate in peer reviews and articulate constructive feedback on fellow students' work.
Reflect on personal artistic development through written and verbal self-assessments.
By the end of this course, students will have expanded their artistic toolkit, gained a wider understanding of contemporary art practices, and developed a more refined personal style.
