The many transferable skills that you develop during this course provide a superb foundation for most career pathways.

Opportunities in the work place could support progression to the Level 4 Higher Apprenticeship in Business & Professional Administration further or higher education to undertake business related or other qualifications, including Foundation Degrees. With additional training, advanced apprentices may be able to progress in their careers to roles including office manager, administration team leader, personal assistant or a wide range of managerial roles within business.

What will I study?

Whilst studying for this qualification you will be developing the knowledge, skills and behaviour that are key to the role.

These may include:

- Producing accurate records and documents including: emails, letters, files, payments, reports and proposals
- Drafts correspondence writes reports and is able to review others' work.
- Maintains records and files, handles confidential information in compliance with the organisation's procedures.
- Communicating (written and oral) with internal and external clients
- Makes effective decisions based on sound reasoning and is able to deal with challenges in a mature way.
- Applies problem-solving skills to resolve challenging or complex complaints and is a key point of contact for addressing issues.

You will also need to complete a vocational competence evaluation log.

This log book will be evaluated throughout your programme (behaviours evaluation log) and supports your completion of the end point assessment.

When your employer and the college confirm that you have completed the required studies, you will be entered for an end - point assessment which includes:

- Portfolio assessment
- Project/improvement presentation 
- Knowledge test

How will this course be delivered?

The apprenticeship programme consists of on-the-job and off-the-job training delivered through on-the-job training from your employer, independent study and work-based visits from your coach  

What qualifications will I get?

Business Administrator Apprenticeship Level 3

How will I be assessed?

Assessment is through a variety of ways including observations, professional discussions, verbal or written questions, assignments, presentations, work products, reflective accounts and witness testimonies.

End point assessment is assessed through:

- Portfolio assessment
- Project/improvement presentation 
- Knowledge test

How do I get a place on the course?

In order to get a place on the course you need to have secured an apprenticeship position with an employer. Apprenticeship vacancies are advertised on our website and you can follow the instructions to apply online.  The vacancies provide detailed information about the employer, the job role, location, hours of work and salary/benefits. 

What are the entry requirements?

- GCSE Maths & English - grade C / 4 or above (or equivalent).
- Working a minimum of 30 hours/37 hours maximum a week
