Where will this course lead?

This course is the second level of the full AAT qualification covering more advanced elements of book-keeping and costing. It is ideal for you if you are currently working and have studied L2 AAT or its equivalent.

What will I study?

The course consists of the following Units:
- Advanced Bookkeeping
- Final Accounts Preparation
- Management Accounting: Costing
- Indirect Tax
- Ethics for Accountants
- Spreadsheets for Accounting

How will this course be delivered?

Lessons will involve workshops, lectures, group work, directed study, computer packages, tutorials and individual work.

What qualifications will I get?

AAT Advanced Diploma in Accounting

How will I be assessed?

To pass this qualification you will complete online exams and computer based tests.

How do I get a place on the course?

Places are offered by interview only. It may be possible to conduct some interviews over the telephone depending upon your existing qualifications and experience.

What are the entry requirements?

You will have completed AAT L2 Certificate in Accounting or its equivalent. If you are applying based on previous work experience you will be asked to complete a diagnostic test to ensure that you have the under pinning knowledge to be successful at this level.

What else do I need to know?

The standard course runs from September to June, while fast track options are available running from January to June. A minimum of 90% attendance is expected. If you have a Learning Difficulty or Disability please let us know when you apply. You will be offered support in your interview.

What can I do after this course?

Students who are successful on this course can gain suitable positions in an accounting / financial environment or gain promotion within their organisation. Successful students who meet the attendance requirements will be offered a place on the AAT Professional Diploma in Accounting.
