Where will this course lead?

This qualification extends and fosters a deeper level of understanding and application and naturally progresses learners' expertise in people practice. It is suited to individuals who:

· are aspiring to, or embarking on, a career in people management

· are working in a people practice role and wish to contribute their knowledge and skills to help shape organisational value

· are working towards or working in a people manager role

What will I study?

You will study seven units, covering a wide range of HR topics:

· Organisational performance and culture in practice

· Evidence-based practice

· Professional behaviours and valuing people

· Employment relationship management

· Talent management and workforce planning

· Reward for performance and contribution

· Specialist employment law

How will this course be delivered?

This is a classroom-based delivery, and you will attend college each week (in term time) for the duration of your course. Sessions contain a combination of individual and group work. This includes discussions, case studies, presentations, debates, research, workshops and tutorials. Tutorials can be conducted using Microsoft teams. The course starts in September and ends in June.

What qualifications will I get?

CIPD Associate Diploma in People Management and Associate membership of CIPD.

How will I be assessed?

You will be assessed through seven written assignments.

How do I get a place on the course?

Places are offered by interviews only. Interviews are normally conducted by telephone.

What are the entry requirements?

You should have a GCSE grade C/4 or equivalent in English and a level 3 qualification such as:

CIPD Foundation Certificate in HR Practice, CIPD Certificate in Personnel Practice, CIPD Foundation Certificate in Learning and Development Practice, CIPD Certificate in Training Practice, or two A levels (or equivalent)

What else do I need to know?

You are required to attend college for four hours a week, attend tutorials arranged with your tutor and undertake at least four hours self-directed study each week.

If you are not already a member of CIPD, you will need to join at the start of the course.

If you have Learning Difficulty or Disability, please let us know when you apply. You will be offered support in your interview. If you need help completing your application, we can help with this too.

What can I do after this course?

Students who are successful on this course may progress to the CIPD Advanced Diploma in Strategic People Management (Level 7).
