Where will this course lead?

This course will provide various 'Healthy and Easy' options on how to create delicious, family favourite meals.

Learners will learn new skills and broaden their palettes with simple 'step by step' in a classroom environment.

What will I study?

Week 1: Keema aloo (mince beef/lamb and potato curry) & cumin rice.

Week 2: Moroccan kofta with spiced vegetable couscous.

Week 3: American meatloaf & creamy mash.

Week 4: Italian meatballs with polenta.

Week 5: Cornish pasties & homemade coleslaw.

On the course learners will be able to:

Learn how to cook your own delicious meals from scratch.

Be taught what ingredients to use and how to preset the food on the plate.

Broaden your understanding of various family favourites.

Create a recipe within the timeframe allocated.

At the end of the course you will be able to create five dishes.

These adult cookery lessons are fun and are aimed to build confidence in the kitchen, helping you to create easy, health , and inexpensive meals for yourself or the family.

How will this course be delivered?

Practical work led by tutor demonstration. Attendance is essential: you will be emailed the ingredients list and any equipment that is required for your lesson.

What qualifications will I get?

This is a personal enrichment course.

How will I be assessed?

This course is for personal development and is informally assessed by the tutor with self-assessment and evaluation by the student.

What are the entry requirements?

Students must be aged 19+.

What else do I need to know?

The tutor will inform you on the first session or prior to it of any ingredients and equipment that are required. Students are responsible for providing their own ingredients and some equipment. Please ensure you wear suitable clothing for cooking. Basic equipment in class.

Please not:Materials are not supplied for Cakes, Flowers/Floristry, Textiles, Art, Cookery, DIY Tiling, Painting & Decorating, Sewing or Upcycling.
