Apprentices at Solihull College have completed their hospitality apprenticeships and have been taken on by leading event, contract and retail caterer Amadeus as chefs. The successful apprentices are now working at the ICC in Birmingham, the Genting Arena and the Barclaycard Arena. Solihull College has worked with Amadeus, providing hospitality apprentices, for over a year.
With this success in mind, Solihull College has now launched a new chef apprenticeship programme in the hope of achieving the same success as its hospitality programmes.
The apprenticeship programmes are a great opportunity for those wishing to become qualified in the hospitality and catering industry whilst gaining industry experience and earning an income. The programmes at Solihull College give people the opportunity to experience working in the events environment, with opportunities to work at venues such as the ICC and NEC.
Many other hospitality apprentices at Solihull College are also nearing the end of their programmes, with many continuing onto the Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship programmes, which will give them a great chance of moving directly into employment in their chosen field. Apprentices can also choose, after Level 3, to continue their studies and gain a higher-level managerial qualification at Solihull College to further enhance their career prospects. Many apprentices on the programme have been successful in securing employment following completion of their programme.
The apprenticeship programmes at Solihull College offer many opportunities across different industries. The programmes have shown considerable success previously, including apprentice Hanna Khan being named Amadeus Apprentice of the Year for 2014.
