College shortlisted for student choice award
Thursday, 5 April, 2018

Solihull College & University Centre is delighted to have been shortlisted in the ‘Further Education College’ category at the Whatuni Student Choice Awards 2018.

The shortlisting is based solely on reviews written on the Whatuni website. Students provided feedback on a range of categories including overall student experience, courses and lecturers, student support and job prospects.

The Whatuni review collection team visited the College’s Blossomfield Campus to collect additional reviews from students in February. The responses were collated and average scores taken. The Whatuni team spent 6 months visiting universities across the UK, asking students to rate their universities and student experience.

The shortlisting from students is especially welcome after the College was awarded a Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) ‘Gold’ rating for its higher education provision last year, the only college in the West Midlands to achieve this.

Sue McGregor, Dean of Higher Education & Curriculum Innovation stated “We are thrilled that this nomination reflects the student voice and is based entirely on their own opinions of the service they are receiving. This is a real reflection of the efforts made by the entire higher education team. We work extremely hard to offer students a fantastic experience”.

Solihull College & University Centre offers university level courses in over 20 subject areas, many of which are offered in partnership with leading universities. Many courses are offered full and part time, so students can study around work and family life.

The Whatuni Student Choice Awards offer prospective students an unbiased, student-led alternative to traditional university and FE college ranking systems. The award ceremony will take place in London on 19th April.
