10 Further Education colleges across the West Midlands including Solihull College & University Centre have joined forces to showcase their construction offerings to businesses and companies across the region during UK Construction Week.
Representatives have been on hand at the 3-day event at the NEC to openly discuss the skills gap across the area and the forward-thinking projects which are already underway to ensure employers have access to the right people with the right skills.
The colleges work together under the umbrella of Skills West Midlands + Warwickshire which is a joined up and collaborative approach to bringing FE closer to local businesses.

Chair of SkillsWM+W Suzie Branch says, “It’s so important we get our message across to businesses across the West Midlands, that we are here to help them. We are in tune with the construction industry’s needs, and we are working to ensure we can fill the skills gap by generating the best training for workers. By working together, we can really make a difference to many industries across the region.”
The colleges taking part are BMet, SCCB, Dudley, HoW, South Staffs, Sandwell, Solihull College & University Centre, Walsall, Warwickshire WCG, and Wolverhampton.
