Where will this course lead?

Develop your artistic and creative skills and explore a range of art disciplines. Find your own style and experiment with new drawing and painting techniques.

What will I study?

Develop your drawing and painting techniques and practice different effects using a range of media such as acrylics, chalks, pencil and charcoals.

Learn to develop perspective, tone, texture, composition and layers. Practice basic drawing, sketching and painting, observational drawing in still life, drawing from pictures and photographs. All skills taught over consecutive terms.

How will this course be delivered?

This is a 2 hour session each week for the duration of the course.

You will need your own sketchbook, paper, pencils, charcoal, acrylic paints, paint brushes, water jar, apron.

What qualifications will I get?

This is a personal development course.

How will I be assessed?

This course is for personal development and is informally assessed by the tutor with self-assessment and evaluation by the student.

What are the entry requirements?

Students should be aged 19+.

What else do I need to know?

Wearing an apron or old shirt to protect clothes is advisable.

Students will need to supply their own materials, for example: sketchbook, large sheets of drawing paper, acrylic paper, acrylic paint, brushes, pots for water, drawing pencils (B-B8), charcoal.  Other equipment will be discussed during the duration of the course.

Please note: Materials are not supplied for Cakes, Flowers/Floristry, Textiles, Soft Furnishings, Homemade Crafts, Calligraphy, Art, Cookery, Tiling, Painting & Decorating, Sewing or Dressmaking.
