This intensive course will equip you with practical automation skills that are highly valued across industries. You'll be able to build AI-powered workflows, integrate multiple systems, and automate repetitive tasks. This opens pathways to roles in automation engineering, process optimisation, AI implementation, and digital transformation. 

What will I study?

This course covers everything from automation fundamentals to advanced AI integration over 5 intensive days (50 total hours): 

• Day 1: Foundations & First Workflows 
  Introduction to n8n, creating basic workflows, understanding data flow, triggers and scheduling 

• Day 2: Working with External Services 
  HTTP requests and APIs, webhooks, file operations, connecting popular applications 

• Day 3: Logic, Loops & Local AI 
  Conditional logic, iteration and loops, integrating Llama AI locally, AI-powered workflows 

• Day 4: Advanced Workflows & Error Handling 
  Error handling and retry logic, variables and expressions, subworkflows, database integration 

• Day 5: Real-World Projects & Best Practices 
  Workflow optimisation, security and credentials, hands-on project building, documentation 

How will this course be delivered?

• 35 contact hours: 5 days of instructor-led training (7 hours per day) 
• 15 hours independent project work: Hands-on homework and final project 
• Hands-on learning: Each participant works on a dedicated PC with n8n and Llama AI pre-installed 
• Practical exercises: Real-world scenarios and projects throughout 
• Small class size: Maximum 15 participants for personalised attention. 

What qualifications will I get?

Upon successful completion, you will receive: 
• Certificate of Completion in n8n AI Automation through Solihull College 
• Portfolio of working automation workflows 
• Documented final project showcasing your skills 

How will I be assessed?

Assessment is practical and continuous: 
• Daily hands-on exercises demonstrating core concepts 
• Homework assignments completed independently (3 hours per day) 
• Final comprehensive project building a complete AI-powered automation workflow 
• Active participation and engagement throughout the course 
• Quality of workflow documentation and best practices application 

How do I get a place on the course?

Please apply through the college website upon completing your application form you will be invited for an interview before commencing the course. 

Limited to 15 places per cohort - early application recommended. 

Start date will be based on number of applicants ready to start. 

What are the entry requirements?

This course is designed for beginners: 
• Basic computer literacy (using web browsers, files, and folders) 
• No programming or coding experience required 
• Enthusiasm to learn automation and AI technologies 
• Commitment to complete all contact hours and independent work 
• Minimum age: 18 years 

What else do I need to know?

Course Details: 
• Duration: 5 consecutive days (3 days face to face and 2 day remote learning) flexibility incorporated based on learner cohourt 
• Schedule: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM daily (includes breaks and lunch) 
• All equipment provided: PCs with Ubuntu, n8n, and Llama AI pre-configured 
• Course materials: Included (exercises, templates, reference guides) 
• Post-course support: 2 weeks of email/chat support
