· Off-the-Job Training: A minimum of 20% of your time will be dedicated to 'off-the-job' training. This includes day-release at college as well as study time for theory and practice.
· Duration: The apprenticeship typically takes 36 months to complete. (This may be reduced if you have relevant prior experience.)
· Support: You'll be supported by your employer, a dedicated college tutor/assessor, and an in-work mentor throughout the programme.

· If necessary, you will also achieve Functional Skills in English and Maths at Level 2 (if you do not already hold the required GCSEs).
Assessment ensures you meet the high standards required of a professional technician.
1. On-Programme Assessment: Regular reviews, portfolio building, and practical observations by your assessor throughout the course to track your development.
2. Gateway: Once your employer and training provider agree you have mastered the necessary skills and knowledge, you progress to the final stage.
3. End-Point Assessment (EPA): This final, independent assessment determines if you are fully competent. The EPA typically includes:
o Knowledge Tests to check your technical understanding.
