Working with animals can be an extremely rewarding career where no two days are the same. With a host of animals living onsite including meerkats, reptiles, donkeys and birds to name a few, studying Animal Care at Solihull College & University Centre will provide you with the hands on experience you’ll need to start your exciting career.

Our Land Based Centre encompasses a three-storey building, complete with specialist rooms to accommodate our diverse animal family including aviary birds, parrots, skunks, and rabbits. In addition, a large range of exotics including lizards, snakes, tortoises, fish and turtles are also enjoying life in our specially designed reptile habitats.

Two external barns and paddocks have also been built to house our larger animals of goats and pigs. The Centre has been thoughtfully designed to provide first-class and practical facilities for students on our Animal Care, Animal Management and Veterinary Nursing programmes.

We are the only college within the local area boasting these enviable courses and amenities, attracting students from across the West Midlands and Warwickshire regions, including Birmingham and Coventry.

After completing the Level 3 course, students can progress on to a Higher Education course or go on to university and study degree courses in areas such as Veterinary Science, Animal Biology or Animal Welfare.

Discover the College’s courses for yourself at our next ‘Try it’ Open Event.

We also offer a range of apprenticeships in this subject.
