Internships last for an academic year and include:
All young people will be supported by a job coach whilst on work placement. The job coach will provide in-work support which will gradually reduce as learners gain confidence and independence in their role.
There will be an opportunity to study for relevant qualifications, including a Workskills qualification, if suitable, as well as English and maths to an appropriate level.
Assessment will be based on a combination of coursework and practical tasks, work completed during your placement, and ongoing feedback from your tutor and job coach.
Please complete an application form and you will be invited in for an interview.
There are no formal qualifications required. We will assess support needs and levels at interview to ensure you are placed with an appropriate employer.
Most of your time on a supported internship will be spent at an employer's premises.
You will be expected to comply with real job conditions such as time-keeping and dress codes.
You will be supported through-out the programme by your tutor and job-coach
You will be given support to access paid employment at the end of the programme.
