How will I be assessed?
This is a challenging, work-intensive qualification that requires commitment, dedication and a professional approach throughout. You will be continuously assessed on your attendance, engagement, application to learning, professional conduct, teamwork and your ability to work positively with both clients and peers. You will complete advanced Anatomy & Physiology and other coursework, practical assessments including training methods, and two personal training sessions with a real client. Your work will be internally assessed and your completed portfolio of evidence will be externally quality assured.
How do I get a place on the course?
You must hold a Level 2 qualification in Gym Instructing or Group Fitness and be able to provide references of relevant work experience. You will be required to attend an interview with the course Tutor which does not guarantee your place on the course.
What are the entry requirements?
Applicants must:
- Be 19 years of age or over.
- Hold a Level 2 qualification in Gym Instructing or Group Fitness.
- Provide references demonstrating relevant work experience at Level 2.
- Be physically fit and capable of fully participating in practical workshops, fitness classes and group personal training sessions throughout the programme.
- Be able to provide two volunteer clients who are available to participate in the practical assessment components of the qualification.
As this qualification involves both theoretical study and practical assessment, applicants should be prepared to engage fully with independent learning, practical coaching and professional practice throughout the duration of the course.
