Where will this course lead?

By the end of the course, learners will be able to participate more confidently in everyday conversations in Spanish and understand common spoken language. The course can provide a foundation for further Spanish language study at a higher level or support personal, travel and cultural interests.

What will I study?

Topics may include:

  • Greetings and introductions
  • Talking about yourself, family and interests
  • Everyday conversations and social interactions
  • Shopping, food and drink
  • Travel and directions
  • Asking and answering questions
  • Pronunciation and listening skills
  • Useful vocabulary and common expressions
  • Basic grammar structures to support communication

How will this course be delivered?

The course will be delivered through a combination of tutor-led teaching, pair and group activities, guided conversations, listening exercises and practical speaking tasks. Learners will be encouraged to actively use Spanish throughout the sessions in a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

What qualifications will I get?

This is a personal development course.

How will I be assessed?

Assessment will be ongoing and informal, based on participation and progress throughout the course. Learners will demonstrate their skills through speaking activities, role plays, listening tasks and practical conversational exercises. Feedback from the tutor will help learners identify their strengths and areas for further development.
