6-Week Watercolour Painting Class

Discover the beauty and versatility of watercolour in this inspiring 6-week course designed for beginners and developing artists alike. Whether you're picking up a brush for the first time or looking to refine your skills, this class will guide you step-by-step through essential techniques and creative exploration.

You will learn how to use watercolour materials effectively, brush control, washes, blending, and layering

Each week we will explore a difference subject and you will produce a range of watercolour experiments, giving you confidence to work independently with the medium.

The course is designed for complete beginners, hobby artists wanting structured guidance. Or anyone looking to relax and develop creative confidence.

How will this course be delivered?

Course is 2 hrs a week, delivered in person at one of the college campuses.

No formal qualification.

How will I be assessed?

No formal assessment.

What are the entry requirements?

You must be 19 years or older.

What else do I need to know?

You will need:

300gsm cotton cold pressed watercolour paper 

A set of watercolour half/full pan paints student grade. Recommend brands are Daler Rowney or Windsor and Newton.

A set of watercolour sable /sable substitute brushes size 2, 4, 6, 8, 10

What can I do after this course?

Learners can enrol on further community education courses or pursue a career in art.
