A former Beauty Therapy student has returned to Solihull College & University Centre to inspire and teach the next generation.
Lauren Yeomans, 28, studied at the College ten years ago and has since gone on to build a successful career as a professional make?up artist. Now, she is back where her journey began – this time as a tutor, sharing her industry expertise with current students.
After years of working in the beauty industry, Lauren knew teaching was her next step. When the opportunity arose to return to the College, she didn’t hesitate.
Lauren said: “Katie Miller was my tutor when I was a student here, so the chance to work alongside her was too good to pass up. It really feels like a full circle moment to be back at the College, inspiring the next generation.”
Alongside teaching, Lauren continues to work in the industry at Vanity Dolls, where she specialises in bridal make-up, proms, parties and everyday looks for clients wanting to perfect their style.
Now teaching Level 2 and Level 3 students, Lauren believes her continued industry involvement is a real benefit in the classroom. She added: “As I am still working in the industry, it’s great to impart my knowledge of running a business, and the everyday skills the students need to succeed. They are so keen to learn which is so encouraging!”
Lauren says returning to Solihull College & University Centre has been incredibly rewarding, allowing her to combine her passion for beauty with her ambition to teach.
