A Motor Vehicle lecturer from Solihull College & University Centre has been commended for his community work as part of the Zimbabwe Achievers Awards 2026.
The Zimbabwe Achiever Awards recognise excellence among Zimbabweans across business, leadership, innovation, culture and community impact. Anesu Muyambi has been awarded the President’s Special Recognition Award for Community Building. The award recognises his voluntary work at the Church of England in Birmingham as a Diocesan Laity Chairperson. He also serves his community on the Diocesan Board of Education as a Governor and a Canon of the Cathedral – all of which are voluntary roles.
This prestigious recognition is in acknowledgement of Anesu’s outstanding contribution to community development and his continued efforts in bringing people together.
The letter sent to Anesu from the award organisation states: “your work has played a significant role in fostering unity, creating meaningful connections, and strengthening the social fabric within Zimbabwean communities in the diaspora and beyond.” It continues: “Through your dedication, you have created spaces that empower individuals, promote inclusivity, and celebrate culture. Your commitment to building and uplifting communities reflects leadership, purpose, and a deep passion for service.”
Anesu comments: “I am proud to have received this prestigious award. I am happy to serve the community and contribute positively to its growth and well-being. Serving the community is a privilege, and I take pride in making a meaningful difference. I am deeply committed and proud to support and serve our community with dedication and care. It is an honour to serve the community and help create a stronger, more connected environment for all. It’s priceless.”
