What will I study?

If you love staying active and want to find out whether you've got what it takes to become a personal trainer, then dive into our Get Into Personal Training Project! You'll explore the key elements of an effective workout, build the confidence needed to lead others, and gain hands-on experience practising the skills that motivate clients to reach their goals.

This exciting project will help you decide if personal training is the path for you and could even open the door to a fitness qualification at Solihull College.

How will this course be delivered?

This is a face to face course delivered at 3 trees community centre. Running for 6 weeks.

What qualifications will I get?

A college certificate of attendance. No formal qualifications.

How will I be assessed?

Informal tutor assessment throughtout the course.

What are the entry requirements?

You need to be aged 19+ and a resident in Solihull. Priority is given to Solihull residents living in Chemsley Wood, Kingshurt, Fordbridge or Smiths Wood.

Become a qualified personal trainer with one of our accredited courses.

Personal Trainer

Fitness instructors deliver training in a range of fitness activities, including weight training, yoga, pilates, personal training and other forms of exercise at private health and fitness centres, local authority run sports and leisure centres, other public and community establishments, and in private homes.

What’s Involved?

Personal Trainers assess the fitness levels of clients. They devise programmes of training appropriate to the needs of clients with varying levels of strength, fitness and ability. They also demonstrate and lead fitness activities and supervises exercise classes. Personal Trainer's ensure that clients do not injure themselves through over exertion or using incorrect training techniques. They plan and monitor personal fitness schedules. They also understand the health and safety aspects of different forms of exercise and ensures that any statutory requirements are met.
