Solihull College & University Centre recently celebrated the creativity and talent of its students through an exciting Esports Jersey Design Competition, with a strong emphasis on supporting Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Additional Learning Difficulties (ALD) students.
The competition showcased a cross-departmental collaboration, as students from Graphic Design, ALD, and Esports got involved to create unique and innovative jersey designs.

Laura Gorzycka and Kian Fox proudly display their winning esports jersey designs
The official winners of the competition were Laura Gorzycka (Graphics Level 3) and Kian Fox (Esports Level 3), whose outstanding designs captured the spirit of the College’s Esports community. Additionally, Farhan Ali (Esports Level 3) and Kimberley Gordon (ALD student) were named runners-up, receiving fantastic tech goodies from Adam Phillips, Business Development Manager B2B Northern Europe for Corsair.
As a strong partner of the College, Corsair played a pivotal role in bringing the students’ visions to life. The three designs were merged to create the official Esports jersey for Solihull Syndicate, the College’s competitive gaming team. The jerseys, now available for purchase via the ESK store, were officially presented to the students.
Students from across departments, including ALD, Graphics, and Esports, joined forces.
Adam Phillips emphasised Corsair’s commitment to supporting young talent in Esports, stating: “Corsair is a Tier 1 brand for computing components and Esports systems – everything you need in an Esports lab, we manufacture. This competition has been a great opportunity for students to get hands-on experience with industry-level design and gaming.”
The competition also highlighted the strength of the College’s Esports team, which recently secured 2nd place in the British Esports Championship. Their continued success underscores the College’s dedication to fostering innovation and excellence in the rapidly growing field of competitive gaming.
