A Professional Creative Practice degree will be introduced this September by Solihull College & University Centre in partnership with the University of Northampton.
The new degree, studied at the College’s Blossomfield Campus, will act as a launchpad to careers in the arts, photography, sculpture, 3D design, graphic design, illustration, motion graphics, film, creative technologies, and more.
The course will feature studio-based projects and lectures as well as live projects with real clients. Students will develop their existing skills and broaden their experience in a range of creative fields. Modules will include Creating Narrative, Emerging Technologies, Professional Practice and more.
Lisa Cleaver, Head of School for Visual, Performing Arts and Media at the College stated: “We are excited to add this degree to our department’s university level offer. It provides a great progression route for our own learners, external and mature learners to develop a robust creative practice. Through live briefs and projects learners will develop the skills required for a successful career in the creative industries.”
The College works in partnership with a number of universities including Northampton, Oxford Brookes, Newman and Coventry to deliver degree qualifications right here in Solihull. Many, including Professional Creative Practice, are offered full or part time – allowing the flexibility to study around work and family life. Students can also save thousands by staying at home and studying locally.
Students who already have a Level 3 vocational qualification or A-Levels in the arts, or those with related industry experience are encouraged to apply now.
