Monday, 8 September, 2014

A group of young apprentices, who were taken on by global firm International Automotive Components (IAC), have celebrated after achieving a host of qualifications with Solihull College following a Team Leading Apprenticeship.
The IAC, who have offices in Coleshill, have been working with the College for six years in helping to deliver apprenticeships and professional qualifications to their employees.

Aged between 18 and 22, the group of male and female students have each completed qualifications including BTEC Extended Certificate in Engineering, AAT Level 1 Accounting and ILM Level 2 Apprenticeship.

Karen Harvey, Head of School for Professional Studies comments: “This is an outstanding partnership between the College and IAC. The company is so supportive of staff development and as a result of these qualifications these young people have appropriate skill sets and have great careers ahead of them. They have been fantastic students to teach, they are of great calibre and I am so pleased they are all continuing their education here at the College in September”?.

All six employees are progressing further with their education at the College; two are going on to study the Foundation Degree in Business and four are moving onto the Level 3 Engineering Apprenticeship.
