The School of Science offers a range of courses for adult learners looking to supplement existing qualifications or to re-join the education system.

The GCSE Biology programme is particularly popular with adult learners who need a GCSE science qualification to gain a place on a nursing degree or a teacher training programme.  It consists of one two-hour lesson, one evening a week during term time.

The A-Level Biology programme is a two-year course.  In year one, you will study for one evening a week towards an AS Level qualification.  In year two, you will study towards the second half of the A-level, but will be required to sit all the exams for the A-level, including the topics covered within the AS Level.

The Access to Higher Education Diploma in Science is a one-year fast-track programme to University Level Education.  It involves studying for three days per week between 9:15am and 2:45pm and includes study of the three science disciplines of Biology, Chemistry and Physics.  Students on this course should be able to commit at least a further 12 of study per week outside of their classroom contact to be successful on this programme.
